The Singapore SME Owner's First AI Agent Class

About this session

AI still can't replace a single role in your company — we've said it for two years, and we're saying it now. But every company has a pile of work nobody was ever hired to do: a proper monthly review, a weekly pass over receivables, sorting complaints until the real cause shows. Hiring for it doesn't pay; you never have the time — so it never happens. That is AI's real place in an SME. These 105 minutes skip AI history and prompt tricks: you'll try an agent that reasons, calls tools, and stops before key actions for your approval, find its limits yourself, and see clearly what's still missing before an AI truly finishes a job.

What you'll take away

  • A real agent trial — run it yourself, approving or rejecting its key actions
  • Your own agent opportunity scorecard — pick the work your company should start with
  • An AI agent implementation blueprint — to keep evaluating and advancing back at the office

AI in Practice for Small Business

Steven Shi 史炘Founder and technical lead, Evernet Systems

For two years now, owners have been stuck on the same question: what can our company actually do with AI? The answer is not in the headlines — it is in the projects that shipped. This session goes to the front line of AI adoption among Singapore SMEs: which use cases are worth funding, which are traps, what budget it takes to see a result, and why some projects pay back in three months while others are still nowhere after six. The goal is to stop treating AI as a toy in ChatGPT and start treating it as a colleague that saves and earns money.

Frequently Asked Questions

The questions we're asked most about Star Alliance gatherings, who they're for, and how to register.

What is Star Alliance (星汇联盟)?

Star Alliance (星汇联盟) is a growth circle for small and medium business owners in Singapore, founded by five entrepreneurs and advisers based here. It runs one in-person gathering a month in Singapore, combining a keynote talk, group discussion and open networking, focused on management practice, current affairs, case discussion and books worth reading.

Who can attend a Star Alliance gathering?

Star Alliance gatherings are designed for founders and senior leaders of companies with teams of five or more, so that the discussion stays substantive. Applicants with smaller teams may still register, and a founder will follow up personally about fit for that month. Sessions are conducted in Mandarin Chinese.

How often does Star Alliance meet?

Star Alliance meets once a month, except in June and December — roughly ten gatherings a year. Each session runs about two hours: a one-hour keynote and one hour of discussion, followed by connections and open networking.

How much does it cost to attend?

Tickets are S$10 for invited guests and S$20 for public registration. Once a registration is approved, Star Alliance sends PayNow payment details and a reference code by WhatsApp or email.

Where are the gatherings held?

Recent gatherings are hosted at iFAST Corporation, 10 Collyer Quay #26-01, Ocean Financial Centre, Singapore 049315, in the Raffles Place financial district. The venue for each session is published on that event's page.

How do I register?

Fill in the registration form on the Star Alliance website with your name, company, industry, role and team size. A founder reviews and confirms your seat within 24 hours, then sends PayNow payment details. Once payment clears, you receive your ticket and on-site check-in code.

Is there any selling at the gatherings?

No. Star Alliance's community rules are explicit: no hard selling — this is not a sales floor; and no arguing to win — this is not a debating stage. The two things it does ask are to listen well and to give freely. These rules are the point of the circle, and the reason members speak openly in it.
